Kari kepala ikan,I have not seen outside of Malaysia, not too sure about in India or some place else, but people laugh when I tell them about the fantastic taste of the meat from the fish head.
I love the one from Stadium Merdeka, I don't think you'll need a GPS coordinates to get there, and also the one in Restaurant Kampung Pandan. Most of the other famous one are like: Kari Kepala Ikan Cheras, it used to be located just after the old Cheras Police station or the Jaya Jusco heading to Cheras, just as you pass the police station you will find a train track across the road, it will be just there, under a few big trees....There are some other "wannabes" but the few main one are as mentioned above...so especially on a Saturday or Sunday, when we can have a nap after lunch, a good lunch would be a Kari Kepala Ikan with family or friends......
This blog was created so everyone can participate and publish what you feel is/are your choice/s of the Best Malaysian Food you ever tasted. It can be Halal or non Halal, just to share your opinion/s so others can enjoy. Please give us a brief description and location (GPS Coordinates) of the restaurant or shop. Off course, the best food is always Mum's or the Wife's cooking but we still want to hear about it.... So come on in and give us all something to go chase after.....

Sweet and Sour Crabs
I just came back from Malaysia after 21 days of great food and time with my family. Incidentally, we went on a trip to Malacca to try out some of the Serani food there and came across something, the Sweet and sour crab at the Portuguese Settlement, Ujong Pasir at stall number 2, was the best we ever had in our lives. I am not writing this because I had a free meal (I paid for the meal), but the gravy and the crab was excellent, compared to all the Chinese restaurants that we have had. I was surprise with the taste, and the crab were full of meat. Just as comparison, we went to Phuket the week before and there we had some crabs but it was only half filled meat, maybe the crabs were on diet before being caught. So go and try the one at stall number 2. Yes stall number 1 has the most customers, but we had our food at the next stall and it was good, especially the crabs. So head to Malacca and try it out. No Regrets...
