I just came back from Malaysia after 21 days of great food and time with my family. Incidentally, we went on a trip to Malacca to try out some of the Serani food there and came across something, the Sweet and sour crab at the Portuguese Settlement, Ujong Pasir at stall number 2, was the best we ever had in our lives. I am not writing this because I had a free meal (I paid for the meal), but the gravy and the crab was excellent, compared to all the Chinese restaurants that we have had. I was surprise with the taste, and the crab were full of meat. Just as comparison, we went to Phuket the week before and there we had some crabs but it was only half filled meat, maybe the crabs were on diet before being caught. So go and try the one at stall number 2. Yes stall number 1 has the most customers, but we had our food at the next stall and it was good, especially the crabs. So head to Malacca and try it out. No Regrets...

Satay..The Best.? Where.? Kajang or Jalan Peel.?
One of the most favorites we like to eat is SATAY. It is famous close by where we stay, Kajang. It is the most famous thing you can get from Kajang town. And one of the best and commercialize restaurant in Kajang is the Satay Kajang Haji Samuri Restaurant, you can't miss it, the biggest one is adjacent with the Kajang Football stadium.I like it here, clean and fast service but the one you get from Queens Restaurant (Formerly known as Queens Hotel) Jalan Peel, is equally or the best of all. It is rumored that this stall owner's uncle is the the very famous KL's satay shop owner, Majid Satay, formerly located at the Campbell complex food court...for those KL old timers, they will tell you about the old stories about Campbell Complex or Pertama Complex...So go try out both and tell us what you think is the best Satay in KL or maybe you know somewhere I don't know....For satay lovers, FYI...Penang does not have any good spots....I know my wife just loves the satay in Peel Road, every time we even come close to Peel Road (within 5 km radius) she will remind me to stop and get 50 sticks of satay...just to taste, her excuse is long time didn't eat the Peel road Satay...ok, Enjoy...

Rojak Mamak or Passembur in Penang
Rojak or also known as Passembur, in Penang is extremly famous amongst Malaysian no matter of what raise. I used to enjoy the rojak from one young boy on a motorbike, around SS2 back in the days, I got to know that he is selling now close to the lorong near the Maybank at the same area of SS2. It's been years since I had his rojak but I'll try to look for him this trip and report back. Now a days, the one in Subang Jaya SS15 is the famous one, used to sell from this pick up truck, together with his wing man the cendol man....
For the Penang side, try the ever famous one in Padang Kota, but be careful of what you choose, as the price can suddenly shoot up to 20-25 RM if you choose too much. The one in Padang Brown is equally good and worth trying. So if you got your secret rojak hideout, just share with us so we can also try out and enjoy it.

Sani Char Koay Teow
The Halal version of the Penang Char Kuay Tiow...is definitely Sani Char Koay Teow, located opposite the Penang Snake Temple in Bayan Lepas. The only problem with this shop is that, me being a big eater, I would need to order an extra plate always, or one of my child will have half her plate missing if she turn the other way just for 5 seconds. Another good restaurant you should try and I ensure you, 101 percent, you'll enjoy it. They have those copyright versions of it in KL but it just does
not make it for me....
The Best Fried Chicken
The best fried chicken is from this restaurant, Cargas Cafe in Bayan Lepas, if you coming from Bayan Lepas Factory area, after the airport flyover, as you come down the flyover drive about 100-150 meters and walah...!!! You'll see the place on your right. Don't judge the book by it's cover. It's now renovated and looking better, compared to when I was around Penang.
Initially, I did not want to take my family there, so I tah pow a few packets back home and after they tried it, they wanted to know from where did I get the fabulous fried chicken, especially my wife. So one Saturday, I decided to take my wife for lunch there, and believe me, she enjoyed it so much. For me it was my usual lunch joint, since I used to work in the Cargo Centre. I really used to just have the Ikan Pari curry and fried chicken. That just made my day.....I went to Cargas Cafe during my last trip to Penang in Dec'10 but unfortunately it was closed on Friday, what a waste as I drove all the way from Batu Ferringhi to Bayan Lepas just to see the shop closed.
Go try it out one day....and tell us what you think....
Yong Tau Foo
Yong tow foo is also one my DO NOT MISS meals every time I am in Malaysia. The best and easily available one are the Ampang Yong Tow Foo. It's halal and service is fast. Normally I will go to the one in front of Ampang Putri Specialist Hospital but always parking problems...but what to do, we need to eat, so sometimes 20 mins just looking for a parking spot. Same with their brach in USJ, Taipan, always hard to get parking. There are a few more shops if you drive further into Ampang Old Town can't remember the address
As usual, if anyone can come up with something that tastes better that this...please feel free to enlighten us....

Nasi Briyani in Restaurant Hameedyiah Penang
Location...Campbell Street, Penang...not KL please....Price is a bit on the high side if you are comparing prices with the other Penang restaurant but you come out of the restaurant feeling good always...Taste is excellent...You should also try the Curry Ayam Kapitan...it's really good....My dad use to love the Murtabak here too. He sometimes use to have 2 Murtabak on his good day....So head out there and check it out.... if you find someplace else better, write in and we will go try out your recommendations....
Nasi Dalca or Dhalca....who cares about the spelling......
Nasi Dalca Kassim Mustafa....OMG...OMG....Location 12 Lebuh Chulia Georgetown, Penang...Problem is you have to be there after midnight....then only you'll get the best one...and only from this branch of Kassim Mustafa....not the others...I've tried the one in KL, Doraisamy road....tak boleh challenge lah...Try it with either the chicken or the excellent mutton curry and don't forget the coconut chutney....
especially after some drinks, the taste is OUT OF THIS WORLD...
Can anyone tell us another spot where we can get it better than this shop, please do so right now....
